Happy Fathers day, Trent. Hope it's everything you've always dreamed it would be. Rush out the door without breakfast in bed to get to Church on time, you have to season your own steaks (but the potatoes, salad and oven toasted rolls were on me), and then you have to share your toy with the extreme-enthusiast five year old. But, lucky for us, Trent is a really great guy and I don't think he'd consider this Father's Day a bust. However, I have promised twice-baked potatoes next time. The bar has just been raised.
This is what came out of an orange rectangular-shaped gift wrapped box....
Kyleigh got a turn to fly Batman inside, but when she went down for her nap, the big boys went outside and did some serious flying.
(Remember how when you're first learning how to play a video game and you swing the controller to the side you want the dude to run? Yep, Brenden is 'that' kid.) ;)
Uh oh, a little windy. Batman flew right into the tree. We got him loose. But when Brenden flew him onto the roof and he fell two-stories onto the concrete steps is when we had our first injury. Batman's leg broke, but don't fret! Trent and Brenden were our 'Johnny(s) on the spot'. A little bit of tape and Batman was out doing safety flight missions in under 5.
Keep up this kind of gifting and Brenden probably won't mind that it's not 'his' day. However, Kyleigh might start to wonder why Mom didn't get anything Princessy for Mothers Day.
We are kinda addicted to the guy. We called him when we were close by and Trent got to meet us for a few minutes on his lunch break at the Zoo. We'll take whatever we can get.
Trent, I'm not so sure the kid should go straight from training wheels to mountain biking. But I guess we can always push 'em into the deep end and see how they fare.
Some days Trent doesn't have time to come home for dinner, so we bring dinner to him. And the kids like running around the University grounds.
Or maybe it's not really the University they like so much....
