Cleveland Zoo

Awhile back, we ran up to the Cleveland Zoo one Saturday before Trent got crazy busy. It was a very nice day out, a little hot, but not too humid so we were happy. This Zoo is much larger and better 'presented' than the Akron Zoo, so we may follow our neighbors down the street who bought a Cleveland Zoo membership instead of an Akron Zoo one. It takes the same amount of time to get there as it did for us to go from Lehi to the Salt Lake City Zoo. If you're traveling to see animals ranging from large beasts to small reptiles, you may as well see the bigger and wider variety at Cleveland. Live and learn.
This was a really cool exhibit for the elephants. They even had a waterfall.
Waterfall...

We crossed train tracks and Brenden couldn't go on. He wanted to sit and wait for the next one to pass by, but we had no idea how long that would be, so somehow we encouraged him to keep moving and we'd probably see a train if we kept moving.

At Petting Zoo, Kyleigh could not be contained when getting the chance to touch, hold or ride any kind of 4 legged animal.

She pet this one till it ran away; then tried chasing it as it ran away from her.

No, Kyleigh, you are not getting a pet goat.
She can't help you either.

So many contained in one space...without the ability to run away from her...good thing she couldn't get in there.
But she was allowed in a snake. Snakes are better than goats anyway. This kind, anyway.

I wasn't sure if Kyleigh could go on the big slide that you have to climb up to the top of this tree house to get to, so Trent took Brenden first to make sure it was ok for little mini-girls. This playground area was huge.

Mom and Dad are the coolest!!...there really was a train later on. We didn't have time to ride this one. Mom and Dad not so cool anymore :(

But we brought a cooler full of food and snacks....(somewhat cool again. At least thanks to the chips).

After some nutrition, we went into the enclosed bird area. Some people bought little nectar cups to feed the birds and so these guys are well fed.

Cool birds.

Cool kid.

Kyleigh, this is not a petting area anymore.

Woah, and I guess it's not a PG area anymore either.

Big, fat, lazy turtle.

Huge.

Yet another play place. Stick a steering wheel and it's a cool place. That even works on shopping carts in the grocery store.

Kyleigh rode the camel. Didn't move as well as the camels I got to ride in Phoenix as a little girl.

And this Aquarium came close to the one in Oregon, but not quite. Sure was colorful, though.

Speaking of colorful...

Beats the tiny, grassless, enclosed area the giraffes had to roam around in Salt Lake City Hogle zoo.

This thing didn't run away from her.

Kids did well so they got little Frostys for good behavior at the Zoo. Brenden going to dance with his Ice Cream? His Poppy has some dance moves when he gets excited about food as well. And they both enjoy a good scoop of it after dinner or a tiring activity.

Good day at the Zoo. Ice Cream just topped it off very nicely.

Cute pictures, and what a fun outing! I have only been to the Cleveland zoo a few times, and from what I remember it was SO awesome, I just dont think I am ready yet to take all of my kids there, Josh would definitely have to be with me lol....I am not sure if it would be to overwhelming for Wade because its so much bigger than the Akron, we might have to try that next year :)
