Poppy and Bamma come visit!!!!!

We got to have some familiar faces come visit us for a few days. (I took alot of phots), so here's a bit of a photo-journal of what we saw and did when Poppy and Bamma came over. 
We met at McDonalds in the morning for some fine breakfast dining, and then decided to run down to Amish Country. Smuckers just happened to be on the way down, so we pulled over.
(All of the other companies you see...Hungry Jack, Crisco, Pillbury, etc. are owned by Smuckers. Who knew?)

We walked in the door and while Poppy and Brenden checked out the giant Christmas tree, Grandma and Kyleigh checked out the assortment of sweets.

They had a nice historical timeline of the company along with some era-piece relics (not pictured, but was neat to see the giant stoneware crocks they used to make applebutter from).

Kyleigh was 'hopping' for joy. (She did alot of that this trip).

Pretty sweet. They happily went wherever their grandparents led. (especially if it was back to the dessert bar).

As mentioned on an earlier post, Brenden tried out the Pillsbury dough boy, but he was broken..no giggling.

Buddy giving me a good smile. Too bad I couldn't manage to get them both at the same time. Same story with every mother of 2 toddlers...

Further down the OH-57 and 30, you find Lehman's in Kidron, OH. Really neat store. Their ad bit says:
"At Lehman's, being old-fashioned is always in fashion. That's why our massive, 32,000-square-foot retail store contains not one, not two, but three pre-Civil War era buildings...Fall in love with our oil lamps, handmade pottery and copper cookie cutters. Marvel at our wood-burning cook stoves and retro refrigerators. Reminisce with our tin toys, cast iron cookware, hand tools and water pumps."

Not everything in the store is old-fashioned.

And I guess people aren't in the market anymore for GIANT metal bells. Dad says there used to be a really big one but now they only have these mediocre ones for the kids to ring. And we tried out quite a few.

I wasn't lyin....

Mom even found a heart bell. She has an eye for things in the heart shape.

As we passed this section, Dad mentioned to me something about getting me a new washer.....(no thanks, I prefer my electric one, thank you very much!)

And for the wide variety of people in the country who do not use electricity to light up their homes, Lehmans has any variety of lamp you never knew existed.

Anyone in the market for a Wheatgrass juicer?

This was a funny side note of the trip....Dad was incredibly impressed with the colorful wooden rolling pins. I probably shouldn't bring it up as he might have the non-buyers regret of missing out on an incredibly unique cooking tool. They were really cool...just the price wasn't too cool.

The "SLOW Grandparents at play" sign doesn't exactly apply to B & K's grandparents. You almost have to workout before they come for a visit to keep up with the pace.

A ton of these ancient stoves. And if you have an extra $5,000 laying around, you can pick one up.

Later, we found a tourist wilderness spot and let the kids climb around with bugs and insects.
