Stairs Gulch

Trent really likes Hiking so I surprised him one day when he came home. I had printed out a bunch of nice hiking locations from 2 websites. (Very imformative and some even had topographical maps. One is http://www.go-utah.com/Hiking and the other is http://www.utah.com/hike/wasatch_front.htm). This one is real easy, pretty quick, and keeps you almost the whole time next to the river. A little waterfall at the end (but no tire swing) :( . I think we'll do this one again. Just up Big Cottonwood canyon I think about 4 miles from the canyon entrance.

As soon as we took Brenden away from the rocks, he was upset with Mom and Dad. He was pretty cautious though and didn't even want to get too close to the water. That will probably change in a few years.
...So we stayed next to the brook for awhile....throwing more and more rocks....
Brenden and Trent were getting splashed from behind. Brenden probably checking out the source of his sudden wetness.
Good, easy hike. Pretty too. Alot of overgrowth though and we had to make sure the leaves and branches didn't swing and hit Brenden as Trent went by them. Left with all facial features intact.




Few weeks later we went further up Big Cottonwood Canyon up to Silver Lake. Don't think you can really call it a hike to get to the lake, it has a boarded walkway the whole way, but just beyond the lake are a few more trails to 2 other lakes. Trent and I will be looking for our next free night or weekend to hike up there or maybe camp overnight. After this hike, Trent said that Brenden is definitely outgrown this carrier and says we can go buy the heavy duty backpacking carrier. Yeah!
