PS-when you let the kids play outside while you rake all the leaves, maybe check to see if they have tried to sneak your car/house keys outside and dropped them on a random pile of leaves...which you subsequently took to the curb. You may not even realize they are missing until later that night when you need to get something out of the car, and they are no longer in the drawer. You ask Brenden if he took them. He says yes. You ask him where he put them. He gets his shoes on, walks outside, and stops at the location of where one pile used to be. He bows his head as he realizes its gone and he has no idea where it is now.
You inform your husband that the car keys are in the giant pile of leaves on the curb and could be anywhere in there. You both don your beanies, gloves, heavy coats and grab a flashlight as you say a prayer to find the keys before the leaf removal people come. Thankfully, we find the keys before feeling is lost in the fingers and all is forgiven. Well, at least the keys have found a new location to rest.
