Kyleigh turns 4

Kyleigh turned 4...back in August. And we wanted to celebrate our little girl. This is the last year that she'll be the baby. And so far she hasn't acted out too much...on the contrary...she kinda 'loves' the baby too much and is always asking to hold him and if we aren't there to stop her, she'll go attempt to hold him herself.
We've done the zoo for two birthday celebrations and when we asked her if she wanted to go to the lake and have a BBQ, she gave a face similar to the one below:

(This face was brought about by seeing two of her favorite things: pink and princesses)

I had shown Brenden this Ballerina music box that was for Kyleigh's birthday and he couldn't keep it a secret, so we didn't wait to give it to her at the lake...she got to open this one right when she woke up. And you better believe that we listened to it for the greater part of the day.

B supervising the charcoal. (He likes this job).

Kyleigh's happy place: Princesses

Kyleigh also got her first piece of sports equipment. (And has been able to test it out on the courts. She keeps up her excitement about tennis and improving coordination, she might just be able to hang with her Grandma at TPC).

Don't let any of the Waldies see this cake. My cake skills are seriously lacking...or rather...my interest in sculpting a cake for the 4 year old who doesn't eat more than a sliver anyway was seriously lacking. She was just happy it had pink on it.

Kids were less interested in cake and more in the waves and sand down below....

She's a little dainty at first.

And just like her brother, she likes to return the rocks to their native waters....

My tall buddy taking a lazy stroll along the beach. (This kid grows faster than I can buy shorts and pants long enough to keep up with him).

I thought he was coming up to say hi to me...innocent and all...

But then was surprised when this came out:

(This is a post about Kyleigh, but I can't help but talk about this child. He is one fun guy. Handsome, creative-if you can ever figure out or keep up with what's going on inside his head-and pretty generous).

I am lucky to have this guy to experiment all my parenting skills on. He is forgiving and patient.

Caught in the high tide ;)

Joint sand castle build.

Some people take their castle-building more seriously than others. This guy sticks around till the job is done.

It was a fun filled birthday for little Kyleigh Mae...who no longer seems so little...
We love this little princess-loving, pink-wearing, imagination-playing, and hug-giving girl.
