This needs to go on record so we can tease Kyleigh later on in life.
Her Ballet class only allows the parents to come into the room to observe a couple times during the year. The first time I just went and Trent took Brenden home. But I loved it so much that I had Trent and Brenden come for the second one.
Trent was, in all honesty, not entirely excited to be there. Most of the parents were Moms. He was severely outnumbered. He sat on the floor with Brenden at the end of the long line of parents along the back wall. The kids showed us how they stretch, their warm up exercises, and then they got in line to show us a few of their moves they learned. They knew the french word for the moves and would repeat them as they did the move. Kyleigh had been so excited to have both parents there and after each little stretch and move, she would turn around to look at us with her giant cheesy grin....as if to say, "did you see that move? This is so exciting!!!" Trent's rapt attention started to wan. Then, it happened. Kyleigh had gotten to the front of the line, ran and did her jump, jeté. All the parents clapped like they did for all the girls after finishing their jeté. All except for one in particular. Kyleigh followed her teacher's instructions to go back to the back of the line, but the minute she reached the back, she left her place, walked right over to Trent, and wagging her finger in front of his face, said, "Dad! You didn't clap!"
It was so out of the ordinary, that many of the other parents were watching her and once they heard what she said, began laughing and trying to stifle their laughs. That's ok with me. I was laughing right along with them.
