Phone camera dump

A whole batch of photos that don't have any kind of theme or meaning...so they're thrown together here to squeak into the blog book 2013 cause they're still representative of what's going on in the day to day.
B likes building blocks, and we all like battling together to destroy it all when we're done. B was being good with the clean up but someone else didn't consider herself part of the clean up crew. "princess-for-life" was her motto at the moment. (Usually she's actually pretty good with clean up...and right now it's because she enjoys hearing you tell her what a good job she did...hopefully she won't always need that recognition, but for now, if it gets her to clean, I'm ok with that.)

Frankly, we don't see Trent a whole lot. Like this Saturday we all thought we'd see him since he just started a new semester and doesn't have heavy homework yet, but he had to meet at the Church at 5am to drive some of the young men to the Columbus Temple to do some vicarious Baptism work.
At some times, the emotion is just a little raw and our baby girl needs some extra squeezes from her Dad.

This little girl scored on the Valentines party loot. But I'm not sure she even finished the half of it. You can throw all the fruit snacks, suckers, and cookies you want at her and she self-regulates. Just naturally doesn't eat a whole lot of that. But give her one slice of cucumber, a floret of broccoli or pod of green beans and she'll have you loading her up on seconds without hesitation.

A little glimpse into the future:
B came downstairs with Trent's old Boy Scout shirt on.

I can't tell what book Trent and B were reading, but it must have spiked testosterone levels. These boys were throwing grunts and flexing. Doing the dude thing.

Some nights the kids need an extra little night cap....and you gotta do it right. Ice cream is always better enjoyed with a few extra toppings added.

When I sent this photo to my sis, she said, "give him 2 bowls!" and all I could do was reply, "I would have if he had finished his 1st bowl".

For Famous American day at school, B choose George Washington. He got to be quite regal and distinguished for a day. Read a poem about George Washington in front of all the adults and sang some songs with his class.

Speaking of ice cream and toppings, I took the kids over to a local joint called Menchies to fill them up before Kyleigh's ballet practice on Wednesday late afternoon, but after a couple bites of ice cream they became fully engrossed with the chalk board on the wall.

K Mae is my little beauty.

One of Kyleigh's Preschool field trips was a trip on the Trolley to the Metro Bus station to learn about Transportation.

We took the back seat so she could get a good view.

Metro transportation station

Kyleigh's preschool class posing for a comfortable, nicely timed photo....(I felt bad for the kids when the teacher and moms insisted on a photo when we got back and it was cold, snowing and everyone was hungry for lunch...poor kids were done by this point and just wanted to go home and eat...at least I did).

Kyleigh's recital Ballet costume came and the Instructor had everyone try them on in class.
Pink + Sparkles....couldn't have been more choice.

Speaking of Ballet, I took Kyleigh to a play at the Downtown Civic Theatre that had a ballet performance on Miss Spider's Tea Party book. It was well done and little Kyleigh sat through the whole thing without a problem. She asked me if we could go back the next day and watch it again. From wikipedia: "The Civic Theater was designed by the famous theater architect, John Eberson and was constructed by Marcus Loew. The interior of the theater is designed to look like a Moorish Castle with Mediterranean decor. The types of decor varied from Italian alabaster sculptures to European antiques and medieval carvings. The theater is known as an atmospheric theatre, where customers can experience sitting under a star-lit sky and clouds that appear to move across the horizon."

Someone excited for the show to begin. Clutching her playbill.

That white spot on the bottom left was an organ that was raised from the floor and gave us live intermission music.

We got a booster seat for her so she could see the performance better.

Miss Spider's Tea Party:

Kyleigh got a few autographs and pictures with some of the performers. This girl was one of the ants.

I think she was a butterfly.

A bumblebee.

Photo taken awhile back. But this kid does great poses that should be documented for later enjoyment.

Little peanut alien ultrasound picture taken back in March.

Kids put the couch cushions up like a barrier so that Trent and I couldn't get in the kitchen. Trent took up that challenge.

Also in end of March/beginning of April, my cousin Brooke and her husband Todd came from Pennsylvania to visit us! And they came bearing gifts! The kids loved their glasses and immediately thought Brooke and Todd were alright people.

My good neighbor and I took the kids over to an inflatable playground area that was inside Chapel Hill mall. It had these long slides, inflatable obstacle course, mini golf, little chuck-e-cheese type of rides, and a small baby-type play area.
Brenden and his friend C above and Kyleigh and her friend S below.

We also went on the riveting carousel ride while at the mall. This pregnant mom decided that carousel rides are a no-go for me at least until October ends. At least kids had a fun ride.

Kyleigh woke up from a nap (very rare these days), and had the greatest bedhead. Also begged to be documented for later enjoyment.

Trent and I took a date night up to Cleveland to watch the Indians play the Boston Red Sox. I actually like going to baseball games. I don't know a single player, had to text Court and Jared for relevant info on who to pay attention to...of which Court had some great info...but it may just be the experience of the night that made it so swell.

Uncle Scotty would be proud of this ensemble.

While at the store, they happened to have a tub of cotton candy. Kyleigh saw it, and knowing from a past experience what that stuff tasted like, she begged to bring it home. I conceded...but she had to wait until Brenden got home. That was a long couple hours.

But this chap was happy for the gesture.

Northeast Ohio is nice to live in during a week in the summer when the blossoms first come out and our entire street is covered in pink, and a few weeks in the fall when the leaves turn shades of red, orange and yellow. Otherwise, you deal with frost from the humidity turning snow into ice during the winter and drenching humidity in the summer. Kyleigh looks like she just got out of the tub every time she comes in from playing outdoors.

For B's birthday, he got a couple of nerf guns. Trent and B set up some army men on the stairs and had some indoor target practice.

Little Kyleigh Mae hay came with me to check out a different Preschool at a nearby Methodist church. We were sold once we walked into the music/art/theater room. This place is cool...they have handheld drums that look like giant suckers.

B had a Spring Presentation at his school. They did songs that the teacher made new lyrics to old familiar tunes and a couple square dancing numbers.

He seemed pleased with the girl that was picked to be his partner.
I had no idea these things were still in use and not just a decorative relic. But this is the music to which the kids did all their dances. The one on the table stopped working in the middle of our presentation, but luckily B's teacher had a back up one and the event was saved.

They also put on a cute play. Kyleigh had it somewhat memorized and will repeat some of the lines every so often. The animals each came up to the farmer who was looking to get something for his Mom for Mothers day. None of them had anything that the farmer wanted or needed, until the bear came up and whispered that the guy could give his mom a big Bear Hug.

In May, we had our old neighbors and good friends come for the husband's graduation and we got to play with them for a bit while they were here. We met them at their pool at the hotel they were staying at. B had no qualms putting on the pink floaties that the neighbor friends brought....so naturally, I had to document...for later enjoyment :)

These kids are ready for their trip to the desert. Unfortunately swim lessons don't start until the week before we leave and they'd miss half of the lessons since they run 2 weeks long. So I've googled some tips on how to teach kids to swim so that we can somewhat prepare our kids for lots of time in the pool and lake this summer. I'm no swim teacher, so they'll probably have to live in floaties for awhile while they watch their younger cousins swim all over the pool.

Kyleigh and her friend that now lives several states away :(

While the old neighbors were visiting, we all went to the school playground to play for awhile while waiting around for Brenden to get done with school. On the way back to the car, little P grabbed a hold of Brenden's hand who she knows has always been a little sweet and kind to her. It's like he is her surrogate brother. I like finding, and capturing, these moments when the kids are showing a little of their character mold inside.

Cool wagon wheel bench. I could see this on an outdoor patio somewhere.

We got the kids a frosty at Wendy's one night, but they weren't allowed to eat it in the car. So while Trent ran into the grocery store for some milk and a few essentials for dinner, the kids found a curb and B ate while Kyleigh read a book. Ice cream doesn't interest her unless it's mixed up with oreos and milk into a shake. Then, she'll ask you for your glass if you haven't polished off your shake by the time she's finished. It's the one guaranteed (fattening) drink I can get her to finish.

We've had some fun times around here lately. Excited to permanently shed the jackets and visit some family (even a new one we haven't met yet!!)
