After these layers go on, we have about 1 minute to dress ourselves and get outside before he overheats and begins to shed the layers.

Rodger prepped the site with the truck and even drove it up to the door to give us a path so we wouldn't get too wet before we even began.

"All you have to do is hold onto this yellow rope, here..."

No, we didn't have him go solo ....that's for next year. You have to be in Sunbeams, at least, for that. Grandpa was giving Brenden a little snow to eat.

The dudes ready for take off.

A riveting performance. Brenden seemed to enjoy it...

....And wanted to go FASTER

But, again, he's not out of Nursery yet, so only his Dad got to go at a higher speed.

Yep, can't beat Idaho snow.

Hmmm....

Hey guys....another round??

It was still snowing, so Trent, Mary and Brenden built a snowman. We tried to build one during an earlier trip to Idaho, but the snow wasn't wet enough. This was perfect snowman-making snow. Yep, Brenden tested the snow and it packed nicely.

In the basement, they have coal from a leftover heating unit from when the house was first built.
Perfect snowman making material.

Real coal, scarf, hat and a real carrot and this is a sharp looking snow dude.

Backyard sledding was fun, and since the snow was still fresh, we ventured out into the canyon to see if we could find any good hills. One of the hills in the canyon provided a slight incline and was good for awhile...

But we found a better one

Trail Canyon

Brenden usually went with Trent since Trent is stronger. Mary and I took care of the other 2 sleds while Rodger was our 'scout' and found the best sledding spots.

Kyleigh was happy and content to be our little sleeping beauty.

On the way home from the canyons, Rodger 1st hooked my rope to the truck while Trent held onto my sled and pulled us along the roads...canyon roads are the best for this....and later hooked a rope up to Trent's sled so his arms could rest. What thoughtful hosts. Thank you. This desert rat found that winter snow can be fun too...............now where did I put my hot chocolate?

Trent in the backyard.
