Back before the snow....

We used to be able to do outdoor activities like this one in September. I thought I had posted it, but I was wrong. So, to be sure it's included in our yearly blog book and makes the cut, here it is. Thanksgiving Point Farm Country.

Kyleigh wonders what her parents are doing to that poor cow??!

Second nature to this guy. (I tried my hand at it for the first time in my life-and according to Ash, it's one of her lifetime goals to be able to milk a cow-and there's a video at the end).

Hmmm
She wanted to try. And squirmed an awful lot to get to the cow.
But her brother was on a direct course to the ponies and miniature horses, so we didn't let her milk. Maybe next time.
She doesn't look like she enjoyed it, but she is not shy to let you know her feelings about a situation, so if she didn't like it and wanted off, she would have no doubt let us know. She didn't protest, so we kept her on. Then when Brenden went on his second run, I didn't think she would want to go another round, so I stayed outside the rails with her....but all that did was win me a mini-wrestle round with a miniature girl. She wanted on a horse. She is daring, courageous and sometimes blindly brave. She doesn't not always wait until there is proper parental supervision when she attempts to make maneuvers like her older brother or other adults. Very unlike her careful, cautious, and deliberate brother. You have to persuade him, coerce him and then go with him down a 5 foot slide at most times. They are polar opposite in so many ways.
Checking out the horse, greenery or the girl in front?

Must touch each and every animal that mom and dad will allow. She woulda had no qualms about touching the pigs, chickens, turkeys and llamas if we let her do her will.

Miniature horses are not the same as ponies. They are different. Just ask one of the attendants.

Yep, a home away from home.

Trying to get to the calf.
Trying to get out.
Trying to get it to work. No luck. Shucks.
Trying to harvest.
and take the goods to Market. This place shows the kids how we get our produce and lets them walk through each step from the seeds to planting, harvesting, driving to market, etc.
And meanwhile Brenden was farming his goods, Kyleigh was climbing around in black tunnels. These were other play things in the same area for those disinterested in farming...such as this over-active miniature girl.
