Maddy goes on a hike

Maddy came to visit for the week after girls camp and since she hadn't had enough of camping and hiking, we took her up Big Cottonwood canyon. From Silver Lake there are a couple of trails and I can't remember which one we took but I think it was Lake Solitude.

There were some other people feeding the chipmunks so they kept hovering around our table. We were selfish though and didn't share our KFC. After we got done, we saw the sign that said "Do not feed the animals". The grease alone from KFC could have killed them! Grease is for humans.

Who would've thought this Idahoan could make a Las Vegas girl go hiking so much? When the views are like this...it doesn't take much.

Baby B saying hi. Trent's sister Tree let us borrow her pack to go hiking. The baby bjorn just wasn't getting the job done. Too bad Trent slipped twice and on the second one, I look over and Brenden's nose and mouth is bleeding. He really slammed into the back of the shoulder piece of the backpack. Luckily, my dad came the next weekend and took us to an outdoor store, and got us properly fitted. Our own baby backpack carrier, a camelback and backpack for me and shoes that even say "Brake" on the bottom sole. Trent has not slipped once since. And we've done some testing too.

We made it to the top. I think it took us about 45 min to get to the top and 20 to get back down.
Love how still the mountain lakes are and you can see the reflection of the trees in the water. Maddy's hiking shoes are now broken in.
