Vinnie the mormon mafia man

For the actual occasion, we went down to Vegas to go Trick or Treating in my old 'hood. Brenden got to dress up, but I think it was more fun for his parents than it was for him. We took him trick and treating, but my Dad described Brenden's thoughts perfectly, "Why are we leaving this house so soon? We just got here! Why did we come all the way over here to get candy? We have a bunch back home!"
He made it to about 5 houses and we turned back. Next year will be better. At least the weather was warm enough to be wondering aimlessly asking for other people's candy.
Video of B playing ball before bed. Apparently the dog didn't want to play ball with him.
Cowboy B
Littlest Sheriff of the West
Showing us his cowboy moves. He really likes to dance.

Court met up with us by the 2nd house. He was hesitant at first about going up to her....

...but he didn't hesitate at all to go to a guy dressed in all black from head to toe. Scott came at us from the side and he was so dark, we didn't even see him at first. For Brenden, people dressed in all black are less scary than people in a light blue dress. Crazy kid.
Grandpa was getting extremely anxious about candy...almost banged this guys door down to get some. No, it's a neighbors.
Discussing the 'goods' collected for the night. Pretty profitable for a first timer. I love seeing these two 'chatting' together. When we were in Vegas, Brenden always wanted my Dad to hold him when we were around the kitchen making our meals or dessert. Dad would hold him and show him how the beater goes around to make the cookie dough, or how the meat cooks to stay juicy and tender. It was cute to watch...but now Brenden is not happy with his mom if she does not pick him up and show him exactly what is going on inside all those pots and pans on the stove.
Picture makes it hard to see, but Brenden has begun to bite his tongue on the side. This became a kodak moment because my Dad is a big tongue biter when he is thinking or working. Must have passed that on...I just hope it comes with the work ethic that it usually accompanies.
My dad on the run....quick...he spotted a good trail.

Oops, got stuck.

Clouds look like they are 'swirling'.

I love how it looks like there are 4 'layers' of mountains. Desert landscape is beautiful.

Ash said she felt very 'dirty'. Picture doesn't show it, but she has dirt all over her face where the goggles were not covering. Happy to be dirty!
Stopped midway at a good mtn to do some shooting.
Dad testing out the 44

Ash's headset randomly climbed up her head while she was talking. Mom, Trent and I had a good laugh....so did she.

If you click on the photo, you can see Ash squinting her eyes as she is focusing on her target. Probably mostly in anticipation of the loud shot.
More 'headset issues'....? I took this picture of Trent, looked at it and thought it was neat how he looked almost 3D. We tried it at a different angle, but only focusing toward a certain direction and with the large clouds behind could we reach this surreal affect.
Maddy holding our shot up bottle. Some families perform music together...ours got skipped when handing out the musical talents (for the most part), so we try out the various guns in target practice. Is there some kind of family shooting competition we could enter???
Mom and Dad. Thanks for the good ride, grub and target practice.
...Maybe we better leave now...the clouds are getting darker and darker...

Clear skies to your left, dark luminous clouds to your right. This storm came at us fast.

Maddy trying to race the storm. She lost. It got us all soaked as we were trying to load and tie everything down.
As we were heading back to the car, I looked to the right and there was one open spot in the clouds and a very distinct sunlit spot in an open valley. Really cool to see.
Couldn't find the pot of gold. But it was a pretty big rainbow.
Scott decided to see people's reaction (hoping they thought he was a professional racer) as he stayed in full gear driving back home.
For Family Night, we went to a movie after dinner. It was not the greatest movie played, so when Brenden got antsy, my Dad did not hesitate to take him to do a few errands and go home. When we got home this is how we found the little guy-curled up at Grandpa's feet sound asleep.(Dad is explaining to Court the historical significance of this black and white film. Brenden thought it was pretty dull also.)
I got to stay a little longer and welcome Jared Noa back from his mission in the greatest country outside of the US- CHILE!! His last testimony as a missionary at the Stake President's house was indicative of a missionary who grew to have a close relationship with God. Happy he is home....not as happy as someone else though... :)
