Zoo again...sun finally peaked out

Only so many options of places to take a kid and the kid's dad who have an inborn need to be outside. This time it was the Zoo. There are alot of pics of B, but, this is our first child (we'll try to take as many of the next kids...but no promises). We had a few grandma's who stopped us to say how adorable little B was, and one of them gave him an extra carousel ticket that she had. That was nice of her and Brenden really liked it. He wouldn't have gone on the carousel if it had not been for this nice grandma, so thank you, whoever you are. (Videos of carousel ride and funny gorilla at bottom).


First stop was the big elephants. So far, so good-B is interested.

Not just interested in the animals, but the kids around him. He kept making friends wherever we went.

He was not shy and didn't care how much older they were, he just went right up to them and tried to do whatever they were doing. He couldn't quite make it up this handrail like the little girl he was copying, though he tried.


This one got away from him...Dad wouldn't let go of his hand...thought B was too young and there were too many animals still left to see.

After finishing up the monkey exhibit, he took off running. The one where he hop/bounces as he runs with his arms up at his side and short little strides. Was he trying to catch up to the girl he missed??

Monkey exhibit previously mentioned. Some interesting dudes in here. These were the ones with the colorful noses and bums.

Checking out the cool tank they had. It wasn't for fish though. It was for a leopard or something like that. I guess they need a little swimming pool all to themselves. He had the most decked out space of all the animals.

Next time I probably won't even bring the stroller. He was only in it for the first bit until he woke up some more from his quick nap he took on the car ride over to the zoo. (We are dealing with a kid who has learned how to crawl out of his crib and no longer wants to take naps until he is so exhausted that he crashes somewhere. Trent thinks its too dangerous to just keep putting him back in his crib and having him climb out, so he wants to find him a toddler bed asap).

We had no explanation for him. Is this normal?

I think this is normal. Maybe we should give them a little privacy.

Look who we found!! It's MORTY!!!

Black bear. I think B wanted to play with his ball hanging on the string. We wouldn't let him go into the bear's den though. Sorry B.

This was Trents favorite stop of the whole place. He made sure that I got some photos of these guys....

To walk holding B's hand, he actually takes a hold of 'one finger' of ours with his entire hand. Trent is offering his finger to B to hold. I love walking along with little fingers all wrapped around one of mine.

B is still as playful as ever. Everthing is a game to him. Even standing in line for the carousel was entertaining for a 2 year old's mind.


My other favorite thing is when B wraps his small arms around the neck. He looks like he is almost getting too big to be held like this. After measuring him at Grandma and Grandpas bathroom wall, he had grown an entire inch in barely less than 2 months.

He liked the carousel a ton and even cried when Trent took him off.

He/she was even dancing a big with some spin moves. Don't think I quite caught that though. Zoo was good. Too many people, but fun to watch Brenden check out all the animals.
