Easter and FHE

This is where I get to brag about my family. Not only was I born into an 'amazing' family, but I married into one as well. Trent's sister, Trina, recently got a job down here in SLC so she is staying with their other sister, Tree, until she finds a place to live. Trina's husband is currently in Seattle working on the temple (so far he has done the Mexico City temple, Provo, Draper and now Seattle temple. He is extremely talented with his hands and what better place for him than to do the fine woodwork and other decorative features in the temple). He is the only one missing from our Tri-family FHE at Tree's house.

This is Cedar and B sitting on football stadium chairs that Craig found and bought for Trent and I since we have gone to BYU games together for the last 2 seasons. Very thoughtful of him and so helpful since I have minor scoliosis and the benches are a bit rough after 3 hours. Cedar is so nice and playful with her little cousin B.
Jack is all boy and was the only boy in the family until B and Marcel (who is 2 days older than B; son of Trent's other sister Traci and Neil) came along. So far there are 5, soon to be 6, girl cousins and only 3 boys. I think Jack and B definitely look like they are related.

Can't remember who it was, but someone was making faces and Brenden was copying.

Pretty funny to watch B try to mimick your facial expressions.

Part of the group. Trina, her 2 girls Laura and Sarah, Jack, Brenden and Cedar.

Trent was doing the lesson and part of it was having the kids all go through Stripling Warrior boot camp. I think this is Simon says to see if the cadets could follow directions.

A strength and balance test? Jack and Laura were the only ones who were able to walk across the room with the book on their heads.

Jumping jacks. Trent really had them working hard.

Sit-ups. Maybe Aspen wasn't done with her jumping jacks. These kids didn't give up.

Push ups. At least we didn't push them to Navy SEALS standard of 42 push ups in 2 minutes.

Strent had his 'troops' march too.

EASTER!!! We went up to Soda Springs to celebrate. Traci and Neil flew in from Seattle and Trina also drove up with her 2 girls. We missed Tree since she had work that weekend, and with her there, it would have been complete. Mary did a great job at hiding all the eggs with messages for the kids to read, questions to answer or talents to perform. All 3 older girls-Laura, Sarah and Aspen all play the piano, so we got a mini talent show from them. Then we heard some funny Easter memories from all the adults and even Trent's 96 year old Grandma. She also told us that Rodger had a tarantula as a pet and would take it out on a walk on the street to scare the other older ladies in the town. Good times when family gets together and starts to reminisce.

B wasn't feeling well on Thurs before our trip. On Fri, when the vomiting and diarrea also brought on a 102 temperature, I took him to the doctor. We were given some superstrength rash medicine to soothe the burning bum and directive to buy probiotics. All day on Friday, B just wanted to be held. He didn't want to move an arm, speak or do anything. His energy was completely gone and when Trent walked in the door, he knew right away there was no way we were going to Soda that day. We gave B some extra TLC and tried to feed him what we could. We prayed for B to get better and on Saturday, the fever was completely gone and everything else was also gone. We decided to pack up and left at 3 for the 2 1/2 hour trip up north. B was good. Still not as much energy but it was good to be around family.
I think this was Easter morning. Forgot to take pictures of him all dressed up in his new shoes. He didn't do any easter egg hunting since that was done after the younger kids went to bed on Saturday night. Next year will be better since he won't be trying to get his body back in normal working order.

After his nap we let B roam free outside in the backyard. Kinda cool to have a little pond and an airplane right outside the door. This is the pond that Tree dug herself while her dad was gone because she wanted it for her wedding reception that was going to be in the backyard.

Family photo time on Easter Sunday

B asking his Dad if he can drive the truck. I think Trent said to go for it. It's yours if you can open the door and start it up.
Got the door open...with a little help.

Trying to turn on the lights. He's a safe driver.

Ooooo! Got it!
No luck on starting it though.
desAC343 (that was a little message from B as he pounded on the keyboard)

It was a good time and we were reminded how nice it is to have everyone healthy and happy. B celebrates his 2nd birthday next week and it's nice to have him healthy for his big day!
