Back in June, Trent knew we were coming up on our end of Utah hiking with the family vacations and then the big move, so we packed the car with kids and trail mix and drove up through Provo Canyon to hike up to Stewart Falls.
The hike started off with an added bit of fun...climbing over and under a bunch of fallen trees.
Hold the kids hands so they don't fall down the ravine into the valley below.

Just the right size for a little guy
He kinda likes these hikes. So much open space and mom and dad let him run till he drops (which, on almost every hike, is the minute he sits down in his car seat when we get back to the car).
Guess she's having a swell time, too.
We found the Falls.
sweet baby Mae did a great job on this hike. She walked some of it...at least until we got to the snow part.
Awhile back, we stayed at a friend's vacation house which is the one on the right.
with the 2 circular spires.
There's a small trail up at the top where we were at that leads down to the bottom of the falls. There was a ton of snow still on the ground (in June) at the bottom so it was a no-go with little kids.
Where's the rope swing???
Luckily, we made it safely across this slick patch of snow (just don't walk on the trodden path which was slick from everyone else pounding it down. Go a step higher and it's a bit 'stickier'.) A family who went just ahead of us was not so lucky. The Dad, who was carrying their toddler, slipped and fell backwards...onto the kid. He was about 250 pounds and the poor kid's legs were already heavily bruised. But didn't appear broken. After chatting with them, they seemed to be members of our Church so Trent and the Dad gave the son a blessing to help him heal. Sure hope everything turned out well for them. The Dad felt miserable.
Heavy snow pack this year for the trees.
Last view of our Utah hikes. They've been good to us.
