Family

9/26/14
One thing that people are willing to fight for. Brandish a sword, load a gun, flex their muscles. For ages past, we can see how history has been shaped by the fight for the protection and betterment of family.
Books have been written on the subject and movies produced. The "happily ever after" is never about a single person, walking off into the distance, alone. That just doesn't hit us as "happily ever after".
But throw a man and woman kissing in the final screen shot, or a family together at a dinner table, or turning out the lights to the kids' room....now that's a picture of "happily ever after".
Something bad happens to a person, who do we immediately alert?
Something wonderful occurs and we wish to tell someone...who is it?
For better and for worse are not merely words spoken, but deeds done. We stick together and somehow, all the moments of life are better when sharing them with those we love.
Is that the secret to "family"? Love?
Those who exercise love find greater amounts of happiness and fulfillment. (and I mean exercise like work at a gym where you grunt with the pressure of trying to make it stronger, better. You go to a gym and don't expect an easy routine to produce optimal results...so why would we expect any different when exercising love to make stronger bonds of love?)
